## Our story and local team in Kathmandu

Amigo Treks & Expedition is a licensed Kathmandu-based trekking and tour company established to provide safe, well-paced, and authentic Himalayan journeys. Over more than 15 years of field operations, we have guided travellers across Nepal's iconic mountain routes—from Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Sanctuary to restricted wilderness circuits like Manaslu and Upper Mustang—as well as overland journeys across Tibet and cultural tours in Bhutan.

Our field operations are led by experienced, government-certified mountain guides, local Sherpa leaders, and knowledgeable cultural guides who grew up in the valleys where they lead. From our office in Thamel, Kathmandu, our trip planning and operations team coordinates permits, domestic aviation logistics, ground transport, and round-the-clock safety management.

## Why we built this guide library

Amigo Treks & Expedition is a fully accredited travel and trekking operator registered under the Government of Nepal (Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Tourism), the Office of the Company Registrar, and the central bank (Nepal Rastra Bank).

We are active standing members of the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), and the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP).

On the trail, our teams practice Leave No Trace principles, minimize single-use plastics, and support locally-owned teahouses and community lodges throughout the Himalaya.
