Why thirteen days is safer
A thirteenth day allows a more credible overland return, a domestic-flight contingency or an additional Paro night. It also prevents a road delay from immediately threatening the international sector.
Domestic flight decision
Bumthang has a domestic airport, but schedules, aircraft, weather and baggage must be confirmed for the booked date. Do not build the route around an assumed flight that is not ticketed and reconfirmed.

- Paro: arrival nights plus the final protected night.

- Punakha: two nights.
