## What TIMS and the agency do

TIMS is a trekker registration system used under Nepal's current trekking provisions. For routes covered by the revised provision, the registered trekking agency arranges the agency-issued card and coordinates the licensed guide. Keep the TIMS record, park entry and Khumbu local-entry receipt together.

- Do not rely on an old blog, forum post or another traveler's checkpoint experience.

- Verify with the operator to identify the current official source and last review date.

- Recheck rules if the route, nationality or entry point changes.

## Nepali citizens and conflicting online information

Nepali citizens should not be assumed to follow exactly the same foreign-visitor document and fee rules. Carry accepted citizenship identification and confirm the current domestic visitor, park and municipal process with the relevant authority.

If official policy and reported trail enforcement appear different, state the published rule first, recognize that implementation may vary, and verify immediately before departure. Anecdotal enforcement is not stronger than the official rule.
