Use this route and destination guide to make one clear Everest Base Camp planning decision before you travel.

Use the acclimatization day well

Namche is the first place where the itinerary should deliberately pause. A common plan is a slow walk above town toward the Everest View Hotel or a nearby viewpoint, followed by a return to sleep at Namche's 3,440 m. The goal is exposure and recovery—not a strenuous summit attempt.

  • Walk high enough to see the landscape, then return before fatigue builds.
  • Use the afternoon for food, hydration, laundry and a health check.
  • Khumjung and Kunde can be considered when the group is well and the guide confirms the route.
