## Documents, money and transport

Keep your passport, permit details, insurance certificate, emergency contacts and operator number together in a waterproof pouch. Save copies offline on your phone and leave a copy with someone at home. The guide should be able to see the policy number and the emergency assistance number without searching through a full email account.

Withdraw the trail cash in Kathmandu. NPR 25,000 to 35,000 gives many trekkers a useful working reserve for charging, hot showers, Wi-Fi, snacks and an extra lodge night, but your own route, porter arrangement and comfort level may change the amount. Keep small notes and a separate emergency reserve rather than carrying everything in one wallet.

- Confirm whether the operator includes the Langtang National Park permit and TIMS process.

- Ask for the current Kathmandu to Syabrubesi pickup point, vehicle type and expected road time.

- Check that the policy covers the highest planned walking altitude, treatment and evacuation wording.

- Keep the return plan separate from an important international connection.

## The night before Syabrubesi

Use the last evening in Kathmandu to test the day bag, charge the phone and power bank, label the main bag and confirm the morning meeting point. Put water, snacks, medication, rain protection, warm layers and valuables in the bag that stays with you. A late vehicle or a wet first day becomes much easier when those items are already accessible.

Ask the guide to review the first two sleeping stages, the planned acclimatization choice and the response if the road arrives late. You do not need a perfect timetable, but you do need to know who calls the operator, where the group sleeps if the plan slips and how the next walking day changes.

- Carry a small first-aid kit and personal medicines in the day bag.

- Check weather, road conditions and the lodge confirmation before sleeping.
