## Lower-valley daytime and night conditions

Machha Khola–Deng is usually comfortable at roughly 18–26°C by day and 10–15°C at night, with noticeably drier air than September.

## Samagaun and Samdo temperatures

Samagaun/Samdo commonly plans around 4–12°C by day and −6 to 1°C overnight; clear nights cool rapidly. in October, these are broad planning ranges rather than a forecast; aspect, cloud, wind and individual weather systems can move temperatures outside them.

## Larkya La snow tendency

Larkya La is often snow-light and practical, but an October storm can still produce fresh snow, ice and a temporary no-crossing decision.

## Rainfall, cloud and visibility

Post-monsoon air often brings clear mornings and strong mountain visibility. Occasional cloud or snowfall still occurs and forecasts are not guarantees.

## Daylight hours

Roughly 11½–12 hours, shortening through the month; pass day still begins before sunrise.

## Crowds and lodge pressure

High to very high. Departures cluster around clear-weather expectations and holiday dates; Samagaun, Samdo and especially Dharamsala can reach full practical capacity even when lower villages still have rooms.

Usually more reliable as surfaces dry, though unrepaired monsoon damage, dust, construction and traffic continue.

## Exact packing adjustments

Carry a −10 to −15°C comfort sleeping bag, down jacket, two glove layers, warm hat, sun hat, sunglasses and full shell. Book staff and high lodges early and carry earplugs for busy dining rooms.

Clearer and drier than September but much busier; warmer with longer days than November.
