Seven days can combine Lhasa with one high-road excursion, provided the schedule leaves room for altitude and road changes.

Suggested route

  • Days 1–3: Arrive, rest and explore Lhasa gradually.
  • Day 4: Potala Palace, Jokhang or Sera according to ticket availability.
  • Day 5: Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake and back or overnight in the agreed town.
  • Day 6: Flexible Lhasa day for Norbulingka, Drepung or a slower market visit.
  • Day 7: Departure with a confirmed transfer.

Altitude and pace

Yamdrok Lake viewpoints are higher than Lhasa. Your guide should decide how long to stop, whether the route is suitable that day and when to turn back if symptoms worsen.

Useful answers

Frequently asked questions

Can I add Shigatse in seven days?

It can be done as a compressed corridor, but it leaves less recovery time. Add days if Shigatse or Everest is a priority.
